Wigan cut to 4/11 in tight Premier League relegation market

WIGAN HAVE been cut to 4/11 to be relegated this season by Ladbrokes.

In an incredibly tight market they are the only side to earn an odds-on quote with Blackpool in behind at 1/1. Despite beating Newcastle (12/1 for the drop) 4-0 at home, Stoke also remain in the market, albeit as 22/1 outsiders.

At the other end of the table the bookies are ruing Dimitar Berbatov’s late goal as the win for Manchester United means they remain the 4/7 favourites for the title. Arsenal are11/4 with Chelsea 9/2 after their home win over 66/1 title outsiders Manchester City.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’re quoting half the division for the drop and with the exception of Wigan the betting is just as close as the table. We’d have liked United to draw as well but their late winner may prove decisive and they remain clear favourites.”
