Hull to upset Swansea’s automatic promotion push

Published:

Swansea may have kept themselves firmly in the mix for the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship with their latest win over Norwich, but there is every chance that they will fail to capitalise on this victory when they host Hull.

Topsy turvy is probably the best term to describe the Championship promotion race in recent months, with no club able to put together the necessary run of results to assert themselves with QPR.

Swansea moved back to within one point of second-placed Norwich when beating the opposition and are the only one of the top six to have the advantage of playing their next game at home.

However, this may not count for much as Hull are the visitors to the Liberty Stadium and they have been in fine form on their travels for some time.

Swansea’s odds are 8/11 to beat Hull, although the visitors are unbeaten in 15 games on the road and have won all of their last four.

Therefore, Hull can be expected to gain a result and it is 4/1 that they win in Wales, while it is 5/2 that the game ends all square.

With many of the leading protagonists playing away, Leicester look perhaps the safest option to secure maximum points as they host Crystal Palace.

It is 4/7 in the Championship odds that Leicester beat Crystal Palace and Sven-Goran Eriksson will know that his team must embark on a winning run to stand a chance of sneaking into the play-off places.

Crystal Palace have only won once away all season and are 5/1 to beat Leicester, but a draw at 11/4 is possible if they can reproduce their solid home form on their travels.

A £30 stake on Leicester beating Crystal Palace 3-0 would return £300. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
