Kim to upset the golf odds in Valero Texas Open

Published:

Anthony Kim always tends to be fairly consistent when returning home to Texas and it may be worth taking a chance on him gaining a fourth PGA Tour victory with a success in the Valero Texas Open.

Kim has been showing signs that he may not be too far away from rediscovering his best form and 25/1 looks a big price in the golf odds on him winning a tournament missing the majority of the biggest names on the PGA Tour.

The 25-year-old Dallas resident’s last triumph arrived in Texas 12 months ago when winning the Shell Houston Open and unfortunately a thumb injury spoilt a large portion of the rest of his season.

Kim seems to be fully over this problem now and has gradually begun to regain some consistency in his game.

He may have missed the cut at the Masters, but back-to-back rounds of 73 were hardly a disgrace and it is worth mentioning that he did fire nine birdies in his two rounds.

If he can sort his driving out then it will not be long before he is challenging at the top of leaderboards again and there is no reason to suggest that this improvement will not arrive at TPC San Antonio.

Some players to have performed well at the Masters are also heading to the San Antonio course, with Adam Scott the most notable inclusion.

Not only did Scott finish second in the Masters but he also arrives at the Valero Texas Open as the reigning champion, which will make him popular at 10/1 in the PGA Tour odds.

However, Scott’s Augusta exploits may have taken a toll on him both mentally and physically, which in a way could result in a Masters hangover.

The same could be said for Angel Cabrera and Geoff Ogilvy who were both in contention to win the Masters on the final day and are 33/1 and 12/1 respectively to win in Texas.

A £30 stake on Kim winning the Valero Texas Open would return £750. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
