Unbeaten Nadal backed into 1/3 in the French Open betting

Nadal’s first title of the clay court season has seen him receive even more support in the French Open betting with the Spaniard now 1/3 from 4/11 to win in Roland Garros.

Novak Djokovic missed out on last week’s Monte Carlo Masters due to injury and having started his 2011 season unbeaten, a match between the Serb and the Spaniard on clay seems to be the last hope for punters laying Nadal.
Djokovic is the 4/1 second favourite in the French Open betting and after Roger Federer’s (8/1 to win the French Open) defeat to Jurgen Melzer in Monte Carlo, Djokovic seems the only danger to Nadal.
Whether or not Juan Martin del Potrpo can prove a handful to Nadal on clay remains to be seen but if the Argentine can get back to full fitness and find his best game, he offers the best value in the French Open betting at 12/1.
Opposing Nadal in any tennis match is dangerous but opposing the world number one on clay is crazy, and as the Spaniard fulfils his entry criteria over the next four weeks, we may just see his price shorten further.
Nadal is in Barcelona this week for the Barcelona Open Banco Sabadell and with no Federer or Djokovic making an appearance, Nadal is the 2/9 favourite to win.
