The Frenchman is the firm’s 7/2 favourite in their ‘first to foul Messi’ market from Vidic at 4/1. Rooney is 7/1 to commit the first foul on Messi with Van Der Sar the 33/1 outsider.

The first goal scorer is likely to be from South/Central America at 7/4 with Europe a 2/1 chance. It’s 7/2 the first scorer of the game is British or Irish.

It’s also 5/1 that any Barcelona player is booked for simulation in the match.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “United will have their hands full with Messi and surely it’ll only be a matter of time before he draws a foul. It looks like Evra or Vidic will be the perpetrators.”
