Djokovic prepares to upset the odds again as ATP heads to Rome

Rafael Nadal may have been comprehensively beaten in Madrid on Sunday afternoon, but the Spaniard is still the odds-on 8/13 favourite to win the Internazionali DNL d’Italia.

The world’s best make the short flight from Madrid to Rome for this week’s ATP Tour tournament and after Novak Djokovic extended his 2011 unbeaten run to 32 games, and this week’s Internazionali DNL d’Italia betting will have a huge influence on the French Open betting.

It’s an intriguing week in Rome as Nadal looks to get back on track following his first defeat on clay in two years, and that victory for Djokovic sees him installed as the 15/8 second favourite.

Roger Federer is seemingly the only challenger to the two market leaders but even the Swiss great is priced at 12/1 with David Ferrer next best at 20/1.

Andy Murray joins Robin Soderling at 25/1 but should Murray play well this week he is likely to face Djokovic in the semi-final as Djokovic once again gets the easier draw.

Last week Nadal’s draw was billed as a tough draw but this week looks harder with a potential quarter-final against David Ferrer and semi-final against Roger Federer before a likely rematch with Djokovic in the final.

Nadal took last week’s draw in his stride until looking off the pace in the final and with tougher matches this week, Djokovic has to be the value bet in the Internazionali DNL d’Italia at 15/8.

The action gets underway today and we like the look of Gael Monfils at 1/2 to beat Kei Nishikora and Mardy Fish at 1/1 to beat Santiago Girlado.

Punters should keep a close eye on Rome this week as the results are sure to affect the French Open odds and there will be plenty of clues to be found.

A £10 stake on Djokovic winning the Internazionali BNL d’Italia would return £86.25. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
