Hart sets his sights on Man City silverware in FA Cup

Joe Hart does not want Manchester City resting on their laurels after securing Champions League football next season and wants to complete a successful season with victory in the FA Cup final.

A top-four finish is a major breakthrough for the club, but a trophy is arguably equally as important, as it has been 35 years since they last claimed silverware when winning the League Cup in 1976.

However, Hart has reminded his teammates that there is still plenty to play for this season domestically, both in the league and cup.

Manchester City are just two points behind Arsenal with two Premier League games remaining and leapfrogging the Gunners in the table will mean they automatically reach the group stages of the Champions League and avoid the qualifying rounds.

But it is the FA Cup that will be at the forefront of the minds of everyone connected with the club and Hart is targeting a victory.

He said after beating Spurs: “Trips to Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan, what more can you ask for?

“We got this tonight and we now need to give these fans a trophy.”

Manchester City are 2/5 in the FA Cup odds to lift the trophy and 5/6 to secure victory inside the 90 minutes.

But Manchester City have won just one of their last six encounters with Stoke, which includes two FA Cup ties last season which saw Tony Pulis’ men eventually progress after a replay.

One thing that Manchester City can take confidence from is Hart’s record at Wembley, as he has never tasted defeat at the venue.

He has triumphed in three of his five England matches at Wembley and was part of the successful Manchester City team that defeated Manchester United 1-0 in the FA Cup semi finals.

A £30 stake on Manchester City beating Stoke 1-0 would return £150. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
