Mourinho a short price not to be Real Madrid manager next season

Jose Mourinho may still be odds-on to be the Real Madrid manager next season but Ladbrokes have seen plenty of money to suggest otherwise.

Mourinho has been backed into 5/4 to not be the Real Madrid manager at the start of next season and despite winning the Copa del Rey, Real Madrid’s Champions League exit has left Mourinho under pressure.

Mourinho wasn’t in attendance at the Nou Camp last night to watch Barcelona qualify for the Champions League final, instead deciding to stay in his hotel room presumably to keep in contact with his bench away from the watchful gaze of UEFA.

Whether or not he should’ve been in contact with the bench is a matter for UEFA but Mourinho’s negative tactics once again failed to have the desired effect with Real Madrid mustering just one shot on target despite needing three goals to win.

The ‘Special One’ is 4/7 to remain as Real Madrid manager for the start of next season but in his maiden year as Los Merengues manager, Mourinho has failed to win over the Real Madrid fans with his unattractive football.

Mourinho also has a volatile relationship with Real president Florentino Perez, to the point where Mourinho approached Perez seeking assurances over his future in February, and it seems Mourinho has never really settled in Madrid.

Mourinho has been strongly linked with a return to Chelsea and topped the head of the next Chelsea manager betting on Ladbrokes when the market was open.

He love of London is well known and with Carlo Ancelotti pretty certain to be shown the door at the end of the season, Mourinho may be attracted by another stint with Chelsea.
