Vettel 1/4 for title as bookies pray for change of luck
Published:SEBASTIAN VETTEL is 1/4 for the F1 title after another Grand Prix win – prompting bookies to express concerns about the lack of competitive betting for the rest of the season.
The reigning world champ claimed his fourth win out of five races and the Ladbrokes are now praying for a change in fortunes as the season develops.
Spokesman David Williams said: “We’re desperate for somebody – anybody – to come and challenge Vettel. His iron-grip on the F1 circuit has made the outright markets lop-sided.”
Runner-up in Spain, Lewis Hamilton, is the most likely challenger to Vettel’s title hopes at 5/1. Mark Webber and Fernando Alonso are 14/1 chances.
In the race for the Constructors’ Championship, Red Bull are as short as 1/7.
