15:05 Royal Ascot – Domination to return to winners’ enclosure

World Domination may be worth another chance to get his horse racing career back on track with a victory at Royal Ascot in the King Edward VII Stakes.

After a solid maiden win, World Domination was installed as an early favourite for the Epsom Derby until disappointing in the Dante behind Carlton House.

Despite this setback, World Domination is expected to regain his sparkle and is still highly regarded by both trainer Sir Henry Cecil and jockey Tom Queally.

It is believed that World Domination will benefit from the extra break he has been given through missing the Derby, while a stronger pace at Royal Ascot is also expected to suit.

World Domination is 5/1 in the Royal Ascot odds to win the King Edward VII Stakes and this bodes well as it is a race that has typically been good for favourite backers.

In the last 17 renewals, 13 winners have emerged from the first two in the betting.

However, World Domination is not short of talented challengers and both Mijhaar and Glen’s Diamond arrive at Royal Ascot with strong claims.

Mijhaar was a green winner of a Haydock maiden on his latest start and the the Group Tow contest at Royal Ascot is regularly won by horses on the upgrade, who are generally attempting 1m4f for the first time.

These facts also apply to Glen’s Diamond, who is unbeaten in four starts and has shown vast improvement in recent months.

This was proved by his victory in the Group Three Dee Stakes on his latest start and this win certainly entitled him to be supplemented late into the Royal Ascot runners.

Mijhaar is 11/2 to win the King Edward VII Stakes, with Glen’s Diamond also decent each-way value at 8/1.

Nathaniel, who chased home Derby runner-up Treasure Beach on his latest start at Chester, is liable to go off favourite in the Royal Ascot odds at 9/4.
