Bet on Querrey on day one of the AEGON Championships

The grass-court season gets underway at Queen’s Club on Monday and though the likes of Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and Andy Roddick have a bye through the first round, there are several household names in action…

Feliciano Lopez v Dmitry Tursunov

Lopez knocked out top seed Rafael Nadal last year but hasn’t been seeded for the 2011 edition, meaning a tricky first round test again Tursunov, who he is 2-2 against. The Spaniard won their last encounter however and should edge this at 4/9.

Grigor Dimitrov v Thomaz Bellucci

Queen’s debutant Bellucci is an attractive 4/5 to win his first career meeting with Dimitrov. The 11th seed has had a far more impressive year to date than his Bulgarian opponent, winning 18 of his 31 matches to Dimitrov’s four in 14.

Juan Martin del Potro v Denis Istomin

2009 US Open winner del Potro has an unremarkable record on grass and would be wise not to underestimate a player that got further than the Argentine ever has at Wimbledon last year. Odds of 1/5 indicate that he should progress however.

Kevin Anderson v Ivo Karlovic

Speedy server and 2005 finalist Karlovic gets his grass-court campaign going against a player ranked over 100 places higher than him, yet the Croatian is the 8/13 favourite. He has lost four in a row, indicating that Anderson is worth backing at 5/4.

Kei Nishikori v Sam Querrey

Defending champion Querrey is 2/5 to get off to a triumphant start against Nishikori, who won their one prior clash in three sets in 2008. The Japanese number one has never beaten a top 100 player on grass.

A £5 five-fold on the outcomes suggested above would provide a £43 profit.
