Manchester City star offers a strong summer exit hint

| 05.06.2011

It appears that every time Manchester City captain Carlos Tevez returns to Argentina, he marks the occasion with incredibly open interviews in which he makes several bold claims, and he hasn’t disappointed on his latest trip home.

The Premier League’s joint-top goalscorer in the season just gone revealed that he will never return to Manchester once his time at Eastlands come to an end, having failed to fall in love with the city despite spending four years there.

Those comments on an Argentine talk show have been followed by quotes in the News of the World in which he suggests that club chairman Sheikh Mansour has given him complete control over whether he stays or goes this summer.

He said: “Sheikh Mansour has made a lot of sacrifices to keep me and if I stay at Manchester City, it will be for him. ‘He signed me, he wants to keep me, but at the same time he has told me to do whatever I need to do to be happy.

“He has told me ‘If you want to leave then you can go’. There is no deadline, it is down to me…At the end of the season they offered me another new deal but at the moment I don’t know whether I will accept it.”

Tevez’s main problem in England is that he is struggling to cope with living so far away from his two daughters, and his loneliness in Manchester is made worse by the fact that he still only has a limited knowledge of the English language.

The transfer talk isn’t all gloomy for the FA Cup winners though as the Sunday Mirror report that they have made a £30 million approach for Inter Milan playmaker Wesley Sneijder, who has also attracted Manchester United’s attention.

The Citizens are 4/1 to win the 2011-12 Premier League title.
