Moore has past and present form to win AT&T National

It is very difficult to back against Ryan Moore winning his first PGA Tour event of the year as he is one of the stars to line up in the AT&T National.

Extra pressure will be the basics of golf, as the length of the par-70 course at Aronimink Golf Club means that players will have to find fairways off the tee and greens in regulation in order to pick up shots.

However, birdies will not be easy to come by in Pennsylvania given the tricky nature of the greens, which will only increase the need to hit the ball straight.

Moore not only has a good record in the tournament but is also in excellent current form and these two facts combined make him a strong candidate in the AT&T National betting.

It is 16/1 in the golf odds that Moore triumphs in the PGA Tour event, in which he finished second last year behind Justin Rose.

What was particularly impressive about this result was the statistics associated with Moore, as he ranked second in terms of overall putting and also in a share of second in the number of birdies he scored.

Moore tends to fare well in general on courses designed by Donald Ross and this is something else that works in his favour ahead of the AT&T National.

Meanwhile, Moore finished second in his final event before arriving in Pennsylvania at the Travelers Championship, which represented his best result of the season to date.

At longer PGA Tour odds, Carl Pettersson is 40/1 to win the AT&T National having finished sixth in the tournament last year, while he has finished under-par in his last eight rounds at par-70 courses.

Elsewhere, Brian Gay is 50/1 and currently leads the PGA Tour statistics in terms of driving accuracy from the tee.
