Murray 4/1 to take on Lopez clean shaven

| 28.06.2011

Andy Murray is 4/1 with Ladbrokes to play Feliciano Lopez clean shaven.

It’s 1/7 he keeps the facial hair for the match and it’s 14/1 a newly clean-shaven Murray wins Wimbledon this year.

Murray faces 66/1 tournament outsider Lopez as a warm 1/10 favourite to win the match (Lopez 6/1 to win) and he goes into the clash knowing that mum Judy has a soft spot for the Spaniard. It’s 33/1 she waves his country’s flag during the game.

She’s 100/1 to declare her love for Lopez by holding up a sign whilst they’re on court and Lopez is 10/1 to blow her a kiss at any time.

Further support sees Roger Federer cut to 13/8 for the tournament and it’s 8/13 all the top seeds progress to the semi finals.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Bjon Borg could tell Murray a thing or two about winning Wimbledon with a beard. It seems to be helping so far and we’re offering Murray fans that little bit extra if you think he’ll keep it and win.”

he added: “Judy’s made no secret of her soft spot for Lopez. She could be torn between the two and if she gets behind the Spaniard punters will be rewarded handsomely.”
