Murray to make punters a mint

| 30.06.2011

Murray Mania is now in full swing according to Ladbrokes.

80% of bets struck since the quarter-finals have been for Murray as the famous patriotic punt gathers steam leaving bookies fearing a six-figure mauling if he wins.

Doubts over the fitness of Nadal have also triggered a massive gamble on Murray to come through his semi-final at 7/4 and it’s 8/1 Murray eliminates him in straight sets.

Nadal is currently the 5/4 favourite from Djokovic at 11/5. Tsonga is the 7/1 outsider following his sensational victory over Federer and it’s 7/4 the Frenchman progresses to the final.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters are now backing Murray like defeat is out of the question. Bets have rolled in round the clock up and down the land.”
