Villas-Boas targets trophies and Chelsea 400/1 to win quadruple

Andre Villas-Boas not only intends to win trophies at Chelsea this season, but has also stated his desire to do so playing a brand of attacking football.

The former Porto manager made a positive impression in his first public appearance as Chelsea manager, outlining what his initial ambitions are for his contracted three years at Stamford Bridge.

Like every Chelsea manager in the last decade, Villas-Boas will be expected to not only challenge for silverware, but win some, while he also vows to bring back the free-flowing football that has not always been seen at Stamford Bridge in recent seasons.

Villas-Boas said: “The expectations are for the maximum. We want to win trophies, that is the challenge we face day by day in any business.

“It’s not just about winning, but winning with a certain amount of flair. Everyone likes attacking football.

“The Premier League has a certain amount of goals in every game and it should be an entertaining game for the fans and that is what we will look to do.”

Chelsea are 5/2 in the Premier League odds to win the title, while it is 4/7 that they get their campaign off to a winning start in their opening game by achieving victory at Stoke.

The Champions League is the big trophy to have eluded Chelsea in recent seasons and winning this would certainly make a Villas-Boas a legend for life at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea’s odds are 7/1 to win the Champions League, while it is 20/1 that they triumph in both Europe and the Premier League.

Villas-Boas won three trophies last season at Porto and perhaps the most appealing bet for this season is that he claims four trophies at Chelsea.

It is 400/1 that Chelsea complete the clean sweep of winning the Premier League, FA Cup, Carling Cup and Champions League this season.
