Dominique Strauss can win French election

Published:

Dominique Strauss-Kahn’s odds of winning the French presidential election have been halved by Ladbrokes.

Punters are latching onto the idea that the current case could collapse and have snapped up the 20/1 that was on offer about him winning the presidential race.

His price is now 10/1 thrusting him into contention behind incumbent favourite Sarkozy (6/4). Francois Hollande (2/1) and Martine Aubry (4/1) are next.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’ve seen some smart money for Strauss-Kahn in the last 24 hours. The case is obviously crucial and if acquitted his price will shorten again.”
