Qatar now odds-on to be stripped of World Cup 2022

Qatar are now odds-on to be stripped of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies make it just 4/6 that Qatar will lose the tournament following the life-time ban handed down by the Ethics Committee to Mohamed Bin Hammam.

The Qatari has been found guilty of bribery and Ladbrokes believe that the 2022 tournament is now unlikely to take place in Qatar.

Spokesman David Williams said: “The 2022 World Cup is now in disarray. We cannot see how FIFA will allow the tournament to take place in Qatar given the findings of the Ethics Committee.”

Ladbrokes had offered 6/1 that the tournament wouldn’t take place in Qatar when the original bid was successful, amidst rumours of bribery.
