Snow Fairy will push Midday all the way in Nassau Stakes

Ed Dunlop is convinced Snow Fairy can put an end to Midday’s bid for a hat-trick of Nassau Stake victories.

Snow Fairy is in at 7/4 to win the 3.10 race having impressed throughout the season – despite an injury which kept her out for six-weeks and left her a little ring rusty going into the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown Park earlier this month.

She finished fourth that day behind So You Think, Workforce and Sri Putra, but Dunlop believes the racing will stand her in good stead today.

He said: “She blew for 45 to 50 minutes after the Eclipse. She really needed it, and she had run against two of the best horses in the world.

“But, since that run, she has shown significant improvement at home, and I believe we will see the Snow Fairy of old in the Nassau.”

It might sound ominous for Midday – who can be backed at 6/4 to win her third consecutive title – but the Sir Henry Cecil trained horse should have enough to emerge victorious.

Her chances will also have been helped by the withdrawal of Misty For Me because of the firming ground.

Midday missed out at the Curragh last month to the Aidan O’Brien horse over a similar distance but will have no such worries this time out.

A win for Midday would make her only the third five-year-old in over 20-years to win the race but she has more than enough pace in her legs to come away with the win.

Back Midday at 6/4 to claim an historic hat-trick.
