Bratton slashed to take over the Met

BILL BRATTON’S odds of taking over as the Metropolitan Police Chief Commissioner have been slashed by Ladbrokes.

American ‘Super Cop’ Bratton is now the joint 4/1 favourite for the position (from 7/1) with Sir Hugh Orde as the gamble on Bratton picks up pace whilst the position remains vacant.

Previous front-runners Sara Thornton (5/1), Steve House (7/1) and Cressida Dick (12/1) now drift in the betting.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It’s USA, USA, USA as far as punters are concerned. They are confident Bratton will get the gig and have backed him accordingly.”
