Europa League reaction: Shamrock 50/1 for Spurs double

Published:

PSG ARE the 10/1 favourites to win this season’s Europa League, according to Ladbrokes.

Tottenham are the 11/1 second favourites in a tournament which looks wide open, whilst the remainder of the participants are unknown.

Fulham (28/1) are a couple of points shorter than Stoke at 33/1 and Birmingham come in as 200/1 outsiders whilst they participate in the competition from outside the top tier of English football.

Birmingham are 5/1 third favourites in a group housing previous runners up Braga (5/4 for the group) and whilst Tottenham should win group A at even money, Stoke may struggle to escape a tough looking group and trade as 5/2 second favourites.

Shamrock Rovers also make history and are 350/1 to win the tournament at their first attempt, however, a more realistic looking quote is the 8/11 that they win at least one game in the campaign.

They’re 50/1 to complete a famous double over Tottenham in the group.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It’s wide open at this stage whilst we wait for the Champions League drop outs to turn up. Spurs look set to run another big race although Rubin Kazan will provide a stern test in their group.”

He added: “We’ve seen small and inspired money for Birmingham & Shamrock. Whilst they’re huge outsiders to win the trophy their fans can take comfort form the fact we think they will win at least one game.”
