The Championship teams to put in your accumulator this weekend

Published:

Ipswich justified their billing on the opening weekend of the Championship and we’re backing the table toppers to continue their fine league form.

Both Blackpool and Leicester showed their mettle on the road, and with both facing home ties this weekend we’re putting our faith in them both getting their home league campaigns off to a good start.

Follow the links for our League One and League Two tips, but below you’ll find the rundown on why we think Ipswich, Blackpool and Leicester are the best bets this weekend.

Ipswich Town to beat Hull City @ 1/1

Ipswich kicked off the campaign in blistering form with a 3-0 away win at Bristol City. A midweek hiccup was suffered in the Carling Cup against giant-killing specialists Northampton, but that’s unlikely to affect the Tractor Boys.

Nigel Pearson’s Hull have started the season poorly losing at home against Blackpool and Macclesfield in the Carling Cup.

Ipswich have only lost once at home against Hull in their history and were backing that to continue.

Blackpool to beat Peterborough @ 4/6

The last time these two teams occupied the same division Blackpool did the double over the Posh and we’re backing them to win this encounter.

Both teams started with wins last week, but with Blackpool looking to go straight back up to the Premier League at 9/2, home games against newly promoted sides are a must win.

Leicester to beat Reading @ 8/11

Leicester are favourites for the Championship at 4/1 considering the funds that have been ploughed into the club.

Reading have had the better of the exchanges in recent years having won on their last two trips to the King Power Stadium, but having just lost star striker Shane Long they may struggle to score the goals to win this one.

Leicester had the best home goal record last season while Reading were the second tightest defence away from home in last season’s Championship making a 1-0 Leicester win at 6/1 tempting.

The treble of Ipswich, Blackpool and Leicester all winning pays just over 6/1.
