The Weekly Accumulator: Arsenal to lose in Champions League

Published:

With ten spots in the group stages of the Champions League up for grabs, there will certainly be no taking it easy in the second legs of the final qualifying round fixtures and we believe we have found a winning four-fold that pays 23/1.

Arsenal are considered to have been slightly fortunate to win the opening leg of their clash with Udinese, but will struggle to repeat this feat back in Italy.

The Gunners have lost their last three European away games and have the added inconvenience of manager Arsene Wenger having to hand out instructions from the stands after receiving a touchline ban.

With Arsenal also looking short of experience in both defence and midfield, Udinese look big value at 6/5 in the Champions League odds on their own patch.

Villarreal are perhaps the big bankers at 2/9, even if they lost the opening leg 1-0 away at OB Odense.

The Danes performed a slight smash and grab operation to steal the home advantage, but Villarreal have won their last eight European home games and should be able to turn around their deficit.

Elsewhere, BATE Borisov dominated possession in their opening leg with Sturm Gruz, but were held to a 1-1 draw.

It is 5/2 that BATE triumph in the second leg and make good use of their patient style of play.

The final selection is that Dinamo Zagreb put Malmo to the sword for the second game in succession.

Zagreb looked a class apart in winning the initial encounter 4-1 and are potentially overpriced at 7/5 to secure victory again.

Malmo’s cause will also not be helped by an injury to captain Daniel Andersson, which is expected to rule him out.

Champions League picks
