Bolton vs Norwich: Bolton to improve dreadful home record

| 16.09.2011

Despite losing their last four home games Bolton should be confident about their prospects of beating Norwich.

The in-form Ivan Klasnic has benefitted from Owen Coyle’s prediction that a solid pre-season would get him to the physical conditioning required to perform at the highest level.

Having scored against Manchester City and Liverpool this term, he will be hoping to continue this streak when Norwich visit the Reebok Stadium and the Croatian striker is 5/1 to strike first.

But he may be under pressure from the Trotters’ new signings David N’gog and Tuncay Sanl, who scored for the reserves midweek and are pushing for a place.

Another solid bet is the 5/6 that over 2.5 goals are scored because this has happened in all of Bolton’s Premier League games this season, while Norwich are still waiting for a first clean sheet of the campaign.

Bolton have already beaten another of the promoted sides in QPR on the opening day of the season and are clear favourites in the Premier League odds at 8/11 to beat Norwich.

This result is also boosted by the fact that Norwich have not won away in the Premier League for 32 games, since 1994.

However, Bolton’s recent string of defeats could give Norwich a lift, especially the latest 5-0 reverse against Manchester United.

While, if the Canaries’ performances in their first three games are anything to go by, Paul Lambert will look on this game as winnable.

Norwich’s odds are 4/1 to win for the first time this season, with the draw at 13/5, although Bolton have drawn only one of their last 20 games.

Although goals have been common in games featuring the pair so far this season, statistical followers may prefer to back Bolton to win 1-0 at 6/1, which has been the scoreline on the last three occasions the club have hosted Norwich.
