Seta will take all the beating in Newmarket odds
Published:Today marks the second day of the Newmarket Cambridgeshire meeting and with four races on television, there is some money to be won.
With the Group One Fillies’ Mile being covered separately we will be looking at the other three here and the best bet looks to be Seta in the 13:50, but we also fancy Questing in the 13:15 and Poet’s Voice in the 14:25.
13:15: Questing – 10/3
Questing may have finished behind another of today’s runners in Rakasa in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood last time, but there are reasons to believe she will reverse the form.
The anticipated faster ground should be in her favour, while she was forced into dictating the pace last time, which is not something that suited her.
Questing should get a good toe into the race and the big danger could be Alsindi, who won well on her only start to date.
But trainer Clive Brittain does have a dire winning record at Newmarket.
13:50: Seta – 5/2
Although Seta has not had the career in Group company that many expected, she has won on three of her four starts in Listed races.
Back over what appears her best distance of 1m today, she looks the star horse, is a straightforward ride and should benefit from ideal tactics of sitting just off the pace.
The fact that jockey Kieren Fallon takes the ride is another plus and he is optimistic of her chances.
14:25: Poet’s Voice – 7/2
Premio Loco may be the safest call as he is a proven winner over 1m and showed a nice turn of foot to claim victory in another Group Two at Doncaster earlier this month.
But if Poet’s Voice can reproduce his best then he can win.
He ran well at Meydan in March and arguably needed the run when disappointing last time, but he can be excused that performance.
