Liverpool vs Norwich: Dalglish can expect Anfield stroll

Published:

Liverpool have dominated Norwich in the most recent meetings between the pair at Anfield and another heavy victory could be in line this season.

Four successive victories have been secured over Norwich by Liverpool and although the two fixtures in this time at Carrow Road have been tight and settled by a single goal, at Anfield the winning margin has been far more spectacular.

Liverpool have triumphed by an aggregate score of 7-0 in the last two home tussles and are 3/10 to take another three points against Norwich, who are still to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season.

Meanwhile, Tottenham are the only visiting team to have won at Anfield since Kenny Dalglish returned as manager in January.

However, there are reasons for Norwich to be optimistic about claiming a result.

They played without fear at Old Trafford earlier in the season and arguably deserved something from the game, while they also ran Chelsea close at Stamford Bridge.

Furthermore, last season Wigan left Liverpool with a point and Blackpool claimed an even bigger shock by winning.

However, this is the only occasion in the last 24 in which a newly-promoted club to the Premier League has beaten Liverpool at Anfield.

Norwich’s odds are 9/1 to beat Liverpool and 4/1 to secure a point, although they have not won at Anfield since the Kop was rebuilt as an all-seater stand.

Other markets worth considering are the 7/4 that over 3.5 goals are scored in the fixture and the 4/5 that Liverpool are ahead at both half time and full time.

Despite being in the headlines for the wrong reasons in the past week, Luis Suarez will remain popular in the scoring markets and it is 3/1 that he is the first goalscorer and 4/6 that he finds the target at any point within the 90 minutes.
