Partner’s ego makes Alex the value bet for next Strictly exit

It was a slight surprise that Rory Bremner was the third celebrity eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing and if there is another shock in week four then Alex Jones could be the most under threat.

Alex was slightly disappointing on the third live show, gaining only 25 points from the judges after her Rumba with partner James Jordan, which included a four from Craig Revel Horwood.

This total was only one more than eliminated Rory and a repeat of this score in week five would certainly condemn her to a spot near the foot of the leaderboard in terms of points.

Although Nancy Dell’Olio has been widely tipped to be eliminated for two successive weeks, she has twice survived when left in the bottom two and there is clearly an army of fans determined to keep her in.

There is still the belief that this group of supporters could keep her in the competition for a few weeks yet, as there are some other acts failing to really hit it off with the public.

Audley Harrison, Lulu and Alex will arguably feel that they are most at risk and The One Show presenter looks the value bet at 16/1 in the Strictly Come Dancing betting to be the fourth celebrity eliminated.

Her chances may not be helped by the attitude of dance partner James, who may not have made the desired impression when attempting to stick up for his partner when criticised by the judges.

Alex was called ‘sexless’ by judge Craig, causing James to show a little disrespect and this show of ego may not sit well with voters.

Nancy is the 6/5 favourite to be voted off next, with Audley Harrison 11/4 and Lulu also potentially being overpriced at 11/2.
