QPR vs Chelsea: Blues set to claim West London bragging rights

Published:

Andre Villas-Boas’ Chelsea are picking up momentum and, after a 5-0 home win against Genk in the Champions League, they will be looking to keep up with the high-flying Manchester sides.

With the Blues resting six players for their mid-week European encounter, they head into this game fresh, while QPR’s cause hasn’t been helped by the fact that striker DJ Campbell remains missing with a broken metatarsal…

Match Odds

Amazingly, Chelsea have only won consecutive Premier League away games once since September 2010.

This trend looks set to change this Sunday though with home side QPR rank outsiders at 7/1 in the Premier League odds.

QPR’s last London derby saw them succumb to a 6-0 thrashing against Fulham and, although Chelsea have triumphed in just one of their previous six Premier League derbies away from Stamford Bridge, it’s hard to see QPR getting anything from the game.

Chelsea can be backed to win and keep the pressure on the Manchester sides at 2/5.

Goal Markets

Chelsea’s usually solid defence is looking less formidable this term and they have now gone seven Premier League games without keeping a clean sheet for the first time since 2003.

The Hoops to score one goal or more might represent the best chance to back QPR at 4/5.

Meanwhile, Daniel Sturridge has scored four goals in as many Premier League starts this term and looks set to take up the ageing Didier Drogba’s mantle. Both are 7/2 to hit the net first or 4/5 to score any time.

With Frank Lampard and Ramires both finding the net regularly form midfield this season, and the Blues hitting 13 goals in their previous three games, backing over 3.5 goals to be scored at 7/4 also looks well worth a punt.
