Amelia heavy favourite to win the battle of the X Factor rejects

The decision of the X Factor bosses may not please everyone, but one of the four acts controversially voted off by their own mentors in the very first live show is to return to the competition.

With Frankie Cocozza kicked out for boasting about his involvement with drugs, the show had a gap to fill.

Bringing back Johnny Robinson, The Risk or any other act already to have been voted out by the public would have been highly controversial, given that viewers have previously had an opportunity to save these favourites.

Amelia Lily, James Michael, 2 Shoes and Jonjo Kerr have not had the opportunity to be assessed by voters as yet and are therefore arguably more deserving of a return.

Although it has to be seen as a massive positive one of this quartet are effectively entering the competition at the half-way stage, they have not had the same opportunity as the six acts present from the start to build up any kind of fanbase.

However, it does seem slightly contentious that the foursome will not be asked to sing again to earn their spot in the competition and viewers will be left scratching their heads trying to remember performances from five weeks ago.

Instead, voters will simply be asked to vote for their favourite from these four in the coming days, with the act to receive the most votes joining the six remaining acts for Saturday’s live show, which is songs by either Queen or Lady Gaga.

It is 1/7 in the X Factor odds that Amelia is named as Frankie’s replacement, with James seeming the only probable realistic challenger at 5/1.

Amelia has also be reinstalled at 6/1 to win the X Factor, with James the same price as Kitty Brucknell in this market at 50/1.
