Arsenal vs West Brom: expect goals but no surprises at Emirates

Published:

West Bromwich Albion upset the odds last season to come away from the Emirates with a 3-2 victory – but they should find things much trickier this Saturday.

Arsenal have not lost in six games and were able to rest talisman Robin van Persie for their Champions League game against Marseille in the week.

However, West Brom have been in pretty decent form recently and could make it tighter than the Arsenal faithful would like…

Match odds

They may have laboured to wins against Swansea and Sunderland at the Emirates this season but, a defeat against Liverpool aside, Arsenal have been very solid at the Emirates.

They have won all of their previous four home league games and are 2/5 to get another victory against the Baggies.

However, Roy Hodgson’s side did win their last away game against Aston Villa and sprung a surprise with a 3-2 victory at the Emirates last season.

They can be backed at 7/1 to get another win.

Goal markets

Three of the previous four encounters between these sides have yielded at least four goals and the Gunners hit five against Chelsea in their last Premier League game.

With Arsenal keeping just two clean sheets in their last nine games, backing over 3.5 goals looks tempting at 11/8.

Yet again, it’s hard to look beyond the Premier League’s leading scorer, Robin van Persie, in the goalscorer markets.

With ten goals already this season, he can be backed at 11/4 to score first and 8/13 to score at any time.
