Man Utd vs Otelul Galati: Rooney and Hernandez poised to run riot

| 02.11.2011

Manchester United are absolutely massive favourites to win their Champions League Group C clash against Otelul Galati this Wednesday.

They head into the game on the back of a ship-steadying 1-0 win away to Everton at the weekend following their 6-1 humiliation against Manchester City.

Having Serbian Nemanja Vidic back for their game against the Toffees certainly helped with their defensive problems, but stopping Otelul Galati will be the last thing on their mind as they look to smash the Romanians out of sight…

Match odds

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are 1/10 to record a victory against the Romanians and, based on the Champions League record of the two teams, it’s easy to see why.

United have reached three finals in the previous four years and have won the competition three times in their history.

Meanwhile, Otelul Galati have only played three Champions League games in their history – all of them this season – and have lost them all.

They held United for over an hour of their first game a fortnight ago though and have won their three domestic games following that 2-0 defeat.

They are 22/1 to win this game.

Goal markets

Manchester United are such massive favourites for this game that three of their players are odds-on to score at any time.

Wayne Rooney (4/9), Javier Hernandez (4/7) and Danny Welbeck (4/6) are all fancied to find the net against Otelul Galati.

However, if you like your odds a little longer then backing both teams to score at 13/8 could be worth considering.

The Romanians have scored in two of their three Champions League games this season and United have failed to keep a clean sheet in their previous five European home games.
