Republic of Ireland can stroll into Euro 2012 against Estonia

| 14.11.2011

A determination in Ireland’s play since that horrific night in France has been overwhelmingly evident, and the kind draw they received in the play-off has made them look certainties to compete in Euro 2012.

The Republic are 4/11 to follow up their 4-0 triumph in Estonia with another victory at the Aviva Stadium, with the draw priced at 3/1, and the visitors available at 15/2.

With a tremendous nine clean sheets in their last ten matches, including games away to Italy and Russia, Republic of Ireland look brilliant value at 11/10 to win to nil.

Alternatively, you could take advantage of Ireland to win both halves at the same price.

Estonia were impressive in besting the likes of Serbia to second place in qualifying, but their group contained teams such as the far inferior Northern Ireland side, and it is difficult to see them achieving any sort of success this Tuesday.

With this in mind, and taking into account that the game will occur in front of a vociferous and boisterous home crowd, it could be worth backing Ireland to put a few past Estonia again here.

A repeat of a 4-0 scoreline is nicely priced at 18/1, and punters could get a good run for their money backing a 5-0 home win, available at a lengthy 33/1.

Robbie Keane is difficult to ignore in the goalscorer markets, and is a decent 4/1 to follow up his Friday night brace with the first goal in this tie.

Jonathan Walters’ endeavour epitomises the Irish spirit of this day and age too though, and he could reap the rewards for his hard work by notching first at 6/1.

Keith Andrews, meanwhile, has re-discovered his scoring touch in domestic action this season, and after scoring the first goal in Friday’s clash, he could be a good shout to find the net at any time at 9/2.
