Spain a brilliant price to beat England after naming strong squad
Published:Spain coach Vicente Del Bosque has named an extremely strong squad for their friendly against England this Saturday.
The world’s No.1 international side announced their squad at lunchtime on Monday and it is a formidable group of players.
The likes of Gerard Piqué, Xabi Alonso,Cesc Fábregas,David Villa and David Silva are all in line to feature, with Del Bosque refusing to name any uncapped players for the games against England and Costa Rica.
Del Bosque can also call upon Andres Iniesta for the game as the Barcelona midfielder has recovered from a hamstring injury that ruled him out of Spain’s Euro 2012 qualifiers against the Czech Republic and Scotland last month.
Spain are currently 11/10 favourites for the Wembley clash which, with Spain naming such a strong squad, looks like a brilliant price – especially considering how uninspiring the England squad looks.
John Terry is in the squad but will not start for the hosts as Fabio Capello looks to blood several young players at the expense of the more experienced stars.
With Jack Wilshere, Steven Gerrard and Wayne Rooney also missing for the Three Lions it could be a long evening spent chasing shadows for England’s players.
Spain have won their previous three games against England and didn’t concede a single goal in those encounters.
With England lacking the threat of Rooney and the five strikers they do have in the squad getting just four international goals between them – all from Darren Bent – backing Spain to win at 11/10 looks a brilliant bet.
