Little Mix favourites for X Factor after criticism of Marcus

Little Mix are big favourites to become the first girl group ever to win the X Factor

The foursome have seen their odds slashed in recent weeks and they are now in at 6/5 to win next weekend’s final.

The Tulisa-mentored girl group were not exactly brilliant in Saturday’s semi-final, with their version of You Keep Me Hangin’ On drawing criticism from Gary Barlow, while their performance of If I Were a Boy was instantly forgettable.

However, they have been helped in no small part by the failure of the other acts to really make a grab for the title.

Former favourite, Marcus Collins, was criticised by Tulisa and Louis Walsh for a disappointing performance of The Jackson’s Can You Feel It that even Kelly Rowland found hard to be positive about.

He has now slipped to third in the betting and is currently priced at 12/5 to be announced the winner at Wembley Arena next Sunday.

Meanwhile, Amelia Lily – who has also been a favourite for the competition – is a slightly shorter 15/8 to win.

She impressed the judges with both of her performances, with her version of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough drawing particular praise.

However, with many people unconvinced she should be in the final following her first week elimination, there will be plenty of people put off voting for her.

Little Mix’s ‘girl next door’ demeanour has seen them gain many fans throughout the series and, unless they freeze in the final or one of the other two produces an incredible performance, they look well worth a bet at 6/5.
