Wigan vs Chelsea: Blues to inflict more misery on struggling Latics

Money back on losing match result bets if Chelsea score first but don’t win the game

After a tough few weeks for Andre Villas-Boas and his Chelsea side, they should finally be able to relax a little in this Saturday’s game against Wigan Athletic.

The Blues have come through tricky games against Newcastle United, Valencia and Manchester City with three victories and a fourth consecutive win should be on the cards in this clash…

Match odds

It goes without saying that Chelsea are the massive favourites for this clash and are currently priced at 2/5 to get the win after winning 11 of the 13 meetings between these sides since Wigan made it to the Premier League.

Wigan did manage to pick up a draw at Stamford Bridge back in 2008 though and they beat the Blues 3-1 back in September 2009 at the DW Stadium.

If you fancy Wigan to get their third win in four Premier League outings though, then they can be backed at 7/1 to get the win, while the draw is slightly shorter at 7/2.

Goal markets

The Blues have hit 15 goals without reply in their previous three meetings with Wigan – including a 6-0 hammering at the DW Stadium and an 8-0 win at the Bridge that secured the 2009/10 Premier League title.

With that in mind, backing over 3.5 goals could prove to be a very lucrative punt at 6/4.

Finally, Fernando Torres didn’t even get on the pitch in Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Manchester City on Monday and, if he’s ever going to start a game for Chelsea, this must surely be it.

Backing Torres to score first at 7/2 is well worth consideration – he’s got to score at some point, hasn’t he?
