Blackburn vs Fulham: Score draw on the cards at Ewood Park

Blackburn may not relish a second consecutive home game in the Premier League this weekend, with their most impressive recent results coming away from Ewood Park.

With mass unrest still rife amongst the fans, directed at the owners of the club and manager Steve Kean, 9/5 is available for a Rovers win.

However, while it would be harsh to call their recent triumph at Old Trafford a ‘flash in the pan,’ it is difficult to see the Premier League’s basement boys overcoming an improving Fulham side.

Martin Jol has somewhat recovered after an indifferent start, achieving an impressive draw away to Chelsea and conquering Arsenal at Craven Cottage in recent weeks.

They are 6/4 to pick up what would be only a second away win of the season.

Despite having so few maximum point hauls to their name however, Fulham have drawn five of their ten away games thus far, and 9/4 looks to be a fair price for a stalemate here.

The teams played out a 1-1 draw in this fixture last season.

While Rovers have failed to draw at home as of yet, the potency of striker Yakubu coupled with the fragility of a defence which could be missing unsettled captain Chris Samba, seems to point towards the sides cancelling each other out.

14/1 is the price attributed to a 2-2 draw and that is definitely worth some attention.

The same price is available about Blackburn to be leading at half-time but drawing at the final whistle, and as their inability to see off teams has plagued their season thus far, that could also be worth a look.

Punters looking for a first goalscorer bet may be surprised to see 12-goal Yakubu at a generous 11/2, while Fulham’s main threat appears to come from in-form American Clint Dempsey at 6/1.

He’s notched seven times in his last nine games in all competitions, including an FA Cup hat-trick last weekend.
