Cahill, Samba and Santos on Tottenham Hotspur radar

Tottenham Hotspur are poised to spend some serious cash this January as they look to maintain their assault of the Premier League title – if the latest transfer rumours are to be believed.

Spurs have been in brilliant form throughout the season and are currently just six points behind leaders Manchester City having played a game less, making them third favourites for the title at 9/1.

However, doubts have been raised about the depth of the Spurs squad and boss Harry Redknapp looks set to address those concerns in the coming days and weeks.

First up, ESPN are reporting Gary Cahill could yet move to White Hart Lane as his deal with Chelsea continues to falter.

Spurs were reportedly interested in signing the player in the summer but Bolton decided to hang on to the player until January in an attempt to secure their Premier League status.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle has said Chelsea are still the frontrunners for his signature although the defender is thought to be tempted to wait until the summer to secure a Bosman to Spurs or Manchester United – a decision that could see Cahill earn a huge weekly wage.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mirror are reporting Redknapp is poised to put in a £12million double bid for Blackburn defender Chris Samba and winger Junior Hoilett.

Finally, Spurs are also thought to be interested in Brazilian midfielder Ganso from Santos.

He will cost the north London side an estimated £15million but the exciting 22-year-old would be a big signing for Spurs and would add even more creativity to their already formidable midfield.

If even half of these signings come off then backing Spurs to win the title will not be the outrageous bet it appeared to be at the start of the season.
