Manchester United now 12/1 for the league and FA Cup double
Published:MANCHESTER UNITED are now 12/1 with Ladbrokes to secure a league and cup double this season.
The bookies had offered 50/1 prior to the match that the League second favourites would win before winning the cup & title this season but have now slashed those odds as United march into the next round draw as 9/2 favourites.
The firm can also refunded first goalscorer bets to the tune of £25,000 after Wayne Rooney got the first of the game.
Paul Scholes’s unlikely return to the team has also triggered a series of specials with the odds favouring four to six Premier League starts at 11/10 and a solitary goal in the league at 5/4. It’s 5/2 he scores more than twice this season.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Those who took the big price about United turning their season around can feel smug now. They are far from home and hosed but we’ve had to slash the odds on the double.”
He added: “After refunding a few quid when Rooney scored we had to watch the second half from behind the sofa. A City comeback would have hit us for fortunes.”
