Tottenham vs West Brom: Spurs to keep up pressure in title race

Published:

Tottenham Hotspur wouldn’t have been looking for the draw on their trip to Swansea City at the weekend but, in light of other results, it’s starting to look like a very decent point.

With Manchester United and City losing to Blackburn and Sunderland respectively, they have made some ground on the Premier League leaders and, with Chelsea also losing against Aston Villa, Champions League qualification is now the least they can expect.

However, Roy Hodgson’s West Brom will be no pushovers this Tuesday and the Baggies will be a tough prospect for Harry Redknapp’s men…

Match odds

Spurs are unsurprisingly the big favourites at 4/11 for this game and have been in brilliant form this term – especially at White Hart Lane.

Spurs have the second best home record in the Premier League and haven’t lost in north London since their 5-1 hammering against Man City back in August.

The Baggies have not won at Spurs since 1984 and it’s hard to see any change in that statistic this time out.

However, if you can see another upset, then West Brom can be backed at a pretty decent 8/1 to get their third straight away win in the league following victories at Blackburn and Newcastle.

Goal markets

There hasn’t been a goalless draw between these sides since a League Cup encounter way back in 1982.

However, Spurs have shipped just one goal in their previous four Premier League home games and backing them to win to nil at 11/8 looks well worth consideration.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel Adebayor scored twice in Spurs’ 3-1 win at West Brom earlier this season and he is currently 3/1 to open the scoring and 8/11 to find the net at any time.
