Stuart Pearce 33/1 to lead England to Euro 2012 glory

Published:

STUART PEARCE is 33/1 to lead England to glory at the Euros this summer, according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies also quote him at 8/1 to beat Holland and secure the job on a full-time basis. The match appears to be a close affair at the moment with both sides earning 6/4 quotes each to win with the draw an 11/5 shot.

Fraizer Campbell’s surprise addition to the squad see his odds of making the finals plane slashed to 6/1 and he’s 3/1 to make a scoring debut, as well as being 4/1 to start the game.

Steven Gerrard is the odds-on (4/6) favourite to wear the armband for the match, while Scott Parker is next in at 13/8 having been all the rage in the earlier captaincy betting heats.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It will be interesting to see how the odds change when we know more about the Dutch side. As it stands we think it’s a highly winnable game for Pearce and if they do the business his odds will be cut to get the job on a full-time basis.”
