Arsenal will come alive in second half to claim Everton glory

Two of the Premier League’s form sides meet on Wednesday night, and the standout bet regarding the game looks to be for the sides to be level at half-time, with Arsenal winning at the full-time whistle at 4/1.

Everton and Arsenal have gone into the break on level terms in six of the past 11 meetings of the clubs, and that trend can continue here, with third place-chasing Arsenal looking good to eventually seal victory.

It has been five years and nine games since Everton last came out on top over Arsenal, and the London side have triumphed in seven of these matches, making the 4/1 for the draw at half-time, and full-time away win look more appealing still.

It could also be worth noting that the travelling side have been drawing half of their 14 away matches by half-time this season, whilst Everton have gone into the break level in six of their 14 home fixtures.

Arsene Wenger’s side have recorded six away wins to prove their credentials on the road as well, and they could inflict the Toffees’ sixth Goodison Park defeat of the campaign on them on Wednesday night.

Both teams have been performing well in the Premier League in recent weeks, with Everton’s 3-0 derby loss to Liverpool last week their first defeat in eight games, but with an FA Cup quarter-final replay still to come, their main focus may have shifted from league competition.

Arsenal look good to capitalise on that, desperate to ensure Champions League qualification, and overhaul bitter rivals Tottenham for third place.

The Gunners are unbeaten in their last six league matches, and with Robin Van Persie showing no signs of letting up his insatiable form, he could prove the match winner in the second half for the away side.
