The Championship accumulator: Reading to continue blistering form

Published:

Reading’s magnificent recent form continued with a 4-0 victory over Barnsley at the weekend, and they lead our midweek selections in a four-fold that comes to more than 14/1.

Brian McDermott’s Royals have swept all before them in recent weeks, with a 1-1 draw at Doncaster the only game they have failed to win in their past ten, and they should see off struggling Peterborough at 10/11.

Posh have won eight home games whilst Reading have triumphed ten times on their travels this season, and so the trip to London Road will hold no fears for the Berkshire outfit.

Elsewhere, we look to home sides to bring us a return, and West Ham need to get their bid for automatic promotion back on track as quickly as possible.

They welcome a Middlesbrough side that has lost its past two matches without finding the net, and the Hammers can justify 4/5 odds to win at Upton Park, and turn up the heat on league leaders Southampton.

Leeds are our next picks, and they can extend a three match unbeaten run by disposing of Nottingham Forest at 5/6.

Forest have improved of late, but are still greatly struggling for consistency, and a Leeds team that has shown more solidity since Neil Warnock’s recent appointment can re-ignite fading playoff hopes with an Elland Road triumph here.

Finally, Bristol City can take a big step towards survival by overcoming sketchy travellers Watford at Ashton Gate, at odds of 7/5.

The Robins recently conquered playoff-chasing Leicester at home in the league, and knowing that they need to collect points quickly, especially at home, they will see the visit of Watford as an ideal opportunity to ease their relegation fears.
