Tottenham v Bolton: Spurs to book Wembley appointment

Published:

Tottenham take on Bolton on Tuesday night with a place in the FA Cup semi-final at stake, and after their Premier League title charge collapsed, Spurs will be eager to win at 1/3 to give them a chance of a major trophy.

Visitors Bolton reached the semi-final last season, when they were thrashed 5-0 by Stoke at Wembley, and they are a big 9/1 to win in 90 minutes to book another date at the national stadium here.

You can get 4/1 about the draw that would force a replay at the Reebok Stadium, and some could be encouraged to get behind this outcome, with either side having played replays so far to get to this stage of the competition.

In each of their FA Cup ties at White Hart Lane this season though, Spurs have notched three times, and so the 1/1 odds on them to score 2-3 times in this game look appealing too.

Bolton have themselves scored twice in each of their four FA Cup games so far this season, and so backing them to score 2-3 goals could also be wise at a tempting 11/4, and a lengthy 25/1 is available on a 3-2 Tottenham win.

Both teams had found the net during their initial clash that was eventually abandoned after 41 minutes, and it is 4/5 that a goal is scored at either end here too, and a bigger 7/2 that both sides notch before half-time.

Jermain Defoe has often been given the opportunity to showcase his talents in cup competition this season, and he hasn’t disappointed by top scoring for Spurs with four FA Cup strikes.

He is 9/2 to break the deadlock against Bolton and that deserves some attention, whilst Rafael Van Der Vaart has looked to be returning to form of late, and can be backed to follow up his equaliser against Stoke with the last goal here at 11/2.
