Bayern v Real Madrid: Hosts can claim biggest scalp yet

Bayern Munich have displayed superb home form en route to the Champions League semi-final this season, winning all five games, but they face their toughest task to date at 17/10 to beat Real Madrid on Tuesday.

The visitors are the same price for an away win, and they will fancy their chances of extending a run that has seen them unbeaten in Europe during this campaign.

11/5 is the price attributed to the draw, and a score draw wouldn’t be the worst result for the away team, as they achieved in the first knockout round of the competition away to CSKA Moscow.

It is Bayern’s terrific home form that makes them look a good bet in this game though, and with the incentive of a final played at the Allianz Arena, it may be worth backing the Germans to win to nil at a big 7/2, as they have done in each of their home knockout ties this term.

In their run to this stage, Bayern have been on the right end of a 2-0 scoreline on four occasions from just ten matches, including in their quarter-final second leg, and so the 11/1 odds on a home win by this score look appealing here too.

With that in mind, some may be inclined to get behind a Bayern victory in a match featuring two or less goals at 4/1, whilst the German outfit are an interesting 5/2 chance to keep a clean sheet, as they have done in each of their home ties in the knockout phase.

For first scorer options, Cristiano Ronaldo is as lengthy as you are likely to see him nowadays as a 7/2 chance to add to his eight goals in as many European games for Real.

Mario Gomez is red hot for the home side though, and should be backed at 4/1 to get his twelfth European strike of the season with the opener in this match.
