Blackburn v Norwich: Leaky defences means goals for both

| 20.04.2012

Norwich travel to the North West this weekend to take on a Blackburn side deep in the relegation mire. The Canaries are 13/5 to add to the mounting pressure on Steve Kean and record a first victory at Ewood Park since 1993.

Norwich suffered at the hands of a rampant Man City last week but only days earlier they were victorious at White Hart Lane and can make it two away wins on the bounce here.

Rovers have lost five league games in a row for the first time since 2008 but they are undefeated against the East Anglia side in their last nine meetings and are at evens to beat Paul Lambert’s men.

A draw looks unlikely in this one as the visitors have not shared the spoils once on their travels this season, with four wins and four draws, those who believe this could be their first away stalemate of the season can get odds of 7/2 on this being all square after 90 minutes.

Yakubu was on the score-sheet the last time these two crossed paths and the Nigerian’s goals will be crucial if his side are to escape the bottom three, he is 9/2 to hit the net first.

Grant Holt’s recent form has seen him touted for an England call-up, the ex-Rochdale striker has 12 league goals this season and punters can get 6/1 for the number nine to open the scoring.

This game looks certain to serve up goals.

The hosts have concede a massive 73 goals in the league alone this season, whilst Lambert’s side have kept only two clean sheets in their 34 matches this term.

Add to that these two also played out a 3-3 draw earlier in the campaign, a price of 7/2 for there to be more than 4.5 goals should definitely be considered.

Any punters predicting a repeat of the drama at Carrow Road back in October can get 50/1 for the teams to serve up another 3-3 scoreline.
