Bolton v Fulham: away form of visitors offers big chance for hosts

Published:

Bolton are currently enjoying their longest winning run since December 2006 and they can continue to enhance their chances of Premier League survival with a home victory over Fulham, which can be backed at 13/8.

Owen Coyle’s team have currently won three league games in succession and on that last occasion they accomplished this feat, they ended up experienced a five-fixture triumphant run.

However, as good as they have been of late to climb out of the bottom three, it is the troubles experienced on their travels by Fulham that most suggests a home victory.

Fulham have only managed two away wins all season and these successes have come against clubs below 16th-placed Bolton in the league standings, namely QPR and Wolves.

Meanwhile, they have lost four of their last five on their travels.

The only good news for Fulham is that their recent record against Bolton is especially good and they can count them as their more favoured Premier League opposition.

Fulham have never beaten a team in a team more in the Premier League than Bolton and it is 13/8 that they claim a 13th success against the Trotters.

Furthermore, Fulham have not lost in nine meetings with Bolton.

The big problem for Bolton in this run is their difficulty in finding the target, as they have drew blanks in their last four encounters with Fulham.

It is 5/2 that Fulham keep up this run with another clean sheet.

But what may be a better bet is the 6/5 that both teams fail to score at the Reebok Stadium and not just because of Bolton’s scoring woes against the opposition.

In all of the last five encounters between the pair, at least one of them has failed to score and Fulham’s chances of troubling the scorers will not be aided by the fact that Pavel Pogrebnyak may miss the game because of an ankle injury.
