Championship Accumulator: Boro lead the way in this week’s 15/1 shot

Published:

Our midweek Championship accumulator of over 15/1 kicks off with a win for Middlesbrough as they look to claw their way back into the play-offs.

Tony Mowbary’s side face an already relegated Doncaster at the Riverside and after picking up their first win in nine away at Derby last week, they linger only two points outside the play-offs.

Boro have won four of the last five meetings between the two sides and disposed of Rovers comfortably in a 3-1 win at the Keepmoat earlier in the season.

Brian McDermott’s Reading side sit top of the Championship and they face Nottingham Forest at home where a victory may see them promoted to the Premier League.

The Royals have taken 43 points from the last 48 available and drawn only once since October and with Forest all but safe it is hard to envision any other outcome at the Madejski.

Birmingham could secure a play-off berth with victory at Ipswich if other results go their way.

Chris Hughton’s side haven’t lost in six games, whilst their hosts haven’t won in their last three. City won 2-1 in this season’s first fixture and the Midlands club should have a little too much for an Ipswich side who find themselves with little to play for in mid-table.

Portsmouth kept their brief hopes of survival alive with victory in an unbelievable match against Doncaster last week and we are backing them to keep their supporters on edge until the last two games of the season, with a win at home to Crystal Palace.

Palace are comfortable in 16th, have only won one in their last nine and haven’t won away from Selhurst Park this year. Pompey will have great momentum from the thrilling win in Yorkshire and that should be enough to see them through here.

West Ham travel to Bristol City and have been supreme on the road this term, not losing since January; they should have too much for the strugglers who were hit by a sucker punch at St Andrews at the weekend.
