Donald to put Masters woes behind him with win at RBC Heritage
Published:The PGA tour moves on to South Carolina this week and the RBC Heritage. Unsurprisingly, world number one Luke Donald heads to the Harbour Town Golf Links as the 7/1 favourite.
Donald had a torrid time at Augusta finishing well off the pace at three-over par in the Masters, but he did card a fourth round 68 and will head into this tournament knowing that he has three successive top-three finishes to his name here at Hilton Head and could record his first win.
Brandt Snedeker won here last year after a play-off with Donald, and with three top-ten finishes and a victory to his name already this year, 25/1 looks a generous price for the American to claim another triumph.
Snedeker’s fellow countryman Matt Kuchar played some great golf in Augusta and hovered around the top of the leaderboard for most of the final day, eventually finishing tied third on eight-under.
Kuchar was the only man, bar eventual Green Jacket winner Bubba Watson, to play each round under-par at the Masters. The 33-year old is a man in form and can be backed at 16/1.
Bo Van Pelt hit a final round 64 at the Masters, so comes into this latest contest with his confidence high, a level of performance close to that of last Sunday could make him a good bet at 20/1.
Jason Dufner is an intriguing outsider at 40/1. The 35-year old finished tied 24th at Augusta and was even tied first going into the weekend, he finished in the top 15 here last year and could score his maiden PGA Tour victory.
Closer to home, Padraig Harrington performed fantastically in Georgia, showing that he still has the ability to challenge in the majors. The Irishman is a 33/1 shot, and after finishing on four under at Augusta could mount a serious challenge here.
