Man United v Everton: Reds have too much for wounded visitors

Published:

David Moyes’ Everton side are 10/1 to take three points at Old Trafford this weekend for the first time since 1992.

This will be the Toffees first fixture since the FA Cup defeat to rivals Liverpool at Wembley, and they head to a ground where they have lost 15 of their 19 contests against the Red Devils in the Premier League era.

However, the host’s only two home league defeats this season have come against teams hailing from the North West, in the shape of Man City and Blackburn.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men seem to enjoy playing against the blue half of Merseyside and are 2/7 to extend a run that has seen them win 29 times against them since the re-branding of England’s top division.

The Scot’s side have also won their last seven games on home soil, conceding only one goal in the process.

Wayne Rooney has only scored two goals in his previous 11 appearances against his former club, so instead it may be wise to turn to Javier Hernandez, who is 7/2 to put his side 1-0 up against the Goodison outfit.

The Mexican has been the first goalscorer on the only two occasions he has faced Moyes’ men, and both of those clashes have ended 1-0, so opting for Chicharito to net first and the scoreline to remain the same should be taken seriously at 18/1.

Victor Anichebe has scored more goals coming off the bench than any other player in the league this season with a grand total of five.

The super-sub can be backed at 14/1 to emerge and strike the final goal in Manchester

The away side have been level at half-time in 17 of their fixtures this term, so punting on the game being all-square after 45 minutes and United to be victorious after the final whistle at 10/3 may gather some interest.

Optimistic Everton fans can get the draw at half-time and their side to win at the conclusion at 20/1.
