FA Cup-winning captain expected to wear jester hat to lift trophy

Published:

THE FA Cup winning captain will lift the trophy in a jester hat according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies are now taking bets on how the winning captain will be dressed as he receives the trophy and can report considerable interest in the choice of headwear at 40/1.

It’s only 1/3 the winning captain has a scarf on them of any kind while 5/2 suggests it’s possible they sport a flag – either club or country. Looking ahead to the big match, fans at home may want to take the 33/1 on offer that the ITV coverage drops out at any time as an insurance policy, while the same odds apply should any four-legged animal make it onto the pitch.

Any player can be backed at 4/7 to drop the cup live on air, while it’s just 16/1 either manager is sent to the stands during the game.

The firm also pledge not to be beaten on price* for all first goal scorer bets which has triggered considerable interest in Liverpool’s Suarez at 7/1 following his hattrick last weekend along with Torres at the same price for Chelsea.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “It wouldn’t be the FA Cup final if we didn’t have a host of wacky specials. If the winning captain celebrates with a jester hat punters will have the last laugh.”

He added: “Punters are sweet on Torres to score for obvious reasons. A first goal for him or Suarez will leave a big hole in our pocket.”
